AlibabaCloud (or AliCloud) does not seem to support domain name forwarding/redirecting/pointing (which ever fancy term you want to use). Something that should be as simple as inserting a URL (like Name.com allows so easily) feels like a fiasco with AlibabaCloud. At first, I decided to try out AlibabaCloud by registering a domain name at a reasonable price, but as soon as it came time to forward my domain name to a particular external website, the support staff with whom I exchanged seemed to confused as to what I hoped to achieve exactly. Based on my explanation to them, one person understood "email forwarding" while another understood "web hosting." Come on, guys! Domain forwarding should be common knowledge for any tech worker. yet, it is a complex topic for AlibabaCloud. While I understand that Alibaba is headquartered in China, you would hope that, with the help of Google Translate, the staff over at Alibaba would understand my inquiry and effectively address it. The customer support was friendly, but not very resourceful. On a side note, if ever Alibaba (parent company) hopes to acquire U.S. company MoneyGram, it should work on becoming more tech-savvy beforehand. To further put you guys in perspective, I bought the domain name in question on January 8 and I'm still unable to forward it, something that took me less than 1 minute with Name.com. I'm frustrated and unimpressed.
